I'm straight but recently I keep browsing fanart of certain trap characters that I'm kinda confused in my orientation :|

Sexual orientation doesn't start or end at the genitals and where it does is up to you.
For future reference, people aren't particularly fond of the term "trap." Sorta implies that they have to trick people into having sex with them.

Trap houses are places where drug dealers do their business. They're known as trap houses because drug addicts come in and don't leave until they've wasted all their money chasing a high. It's not a directly offensive term but not to be used casually either.
Folks, I've now deleted two posts that use "trap" in a derogatory sense even after its been explained that it's not appropriate. To reiterate: it's considered an offensive term and we will be handing out warning points to people who keep using it.

That depends on what "traps" you're referring to. Some people do self identify as traps, men who dress as women and film pornography or whatever. Also a very common trope in anime where a boy is forcibly dressed female,
But then there are also people who are born with any various configurations of genitals outside of their control who don't like being associated with the idea that they're decieving people into having sex with them. Usually these are women, usually transgender, but not always. A good term for them is "people"
The problem comes into it because people mix them up,thinking the first group is the second group or vice versa. When they're not really the same thing. One group likes to play on the expectations and subsequent apparent "betrayal" for a sexual kink, the other group are real people who want to live and love like everyone else.

News to me. I thought traps are just crossdressing characters. Called traps because it's akward when you get into them, while not being into boys and find out their true gender.
I'm genuinly suprised that this wasn't well known here especially because it's the internet but I guess I'm the misssinformed here? First time I hear about a different definition/interpretation. Well I'm glad I didn't start some missunderstanding.
