The Unimportant Announcement Thread

After many hours of internal discussion the following changes have been made.

• Silent RTV implemented.
  • Note: It still uses the old config, it's just quieter now.
• Alltalk is on by default.
• A new tip was added to inform new mappers of the ability to ask for alltalk to be turned off.
• The map testing page was updated to reflect current information.

There are still other things being discussed, they're just taking longer and we wanted to at least get these changes out.

Ough I've missed logging a lot of changes being busy with college and stuff.

• Put old rtv back. More gamedays are being planned and it makes more sense to use it. Might as well place it back and see if anything happens.
• Changed various configs.
• Updated sourcemod/sourcepython.
• Updated servers.
• There's more I'm just forgetting.

Does that mean the missing particle error is gone or simply that the red Xs are not drawn anymore? During the last sd_vacuum playtest on the US server we definitely had missing particles.

• Fixed STV being broken from particle "fix".
• Fixed particle fix to fix particles.

Did some neat things. Most importantly been tracking down the memory leak that cropped up after some tf2 updates.

• Removed 4 "unused" plugins that were adding to the memory leak issue. It is now more manageable.
• Discord pings show more accurate player counts now.
• Replaced the PingDiscord plugin with a new one made by @Mr. Burguers which will now show map notes in-game and a link to your map thread. Here is an in-game image of it.

We added a new medal to the site called Self-Made to celebrate those who get a map accepted to the game!

We will award these to anyone who is credited on an official map in the game.

We wont be awarding these to cosmetic creators because its just way too many people and most dont have forum accounts; plus emporium is more for that kinda thing anyway.

Added a required License field to all 3D assets (Models, Textures, Particles) on the downloads page. This should be an easy way to be explicit about how assets can be used, modified or distributed.

We have implemented a new auto-restart feature to our game servers, which we hope will improve performance and stability:

If one of our game servers has not be rebooted in the last 24 hours, and nobody is on the server, it will reboot. This check runs every 10 minutes.

• Removed unneeded plugin from the server.
• Updated the map testing page to reflect what to do with maps that have been on the bot list for more than a week.

• Added Assets category. This has all previous asset related stuff under it.

Overhauling the appeal process for punishments. With that we added a new plugin that makes Xenforo integration a LOT easier and smoother for everyone involved. We can use it for more than just appeals, stay tuned.

Fixed some widgets not being in the right position on the site.
Rolled out the appeal process.

The groups tab on the feedback site is operational again, it's limited to 40 maps, if I need to raise it let me know.
