I dont like the Backburner having an air-blast because now if a pyro un-successfuly sneaks on a Soldier or something, he can air blast them away and high tail it.
I don't mind the backburner changes. You're a moron if you're using the BACKburner to reflect anyways. Not to mention the ammo drain.

Can you honestly consider it balanced if you fuck up a sneak attempt (at the chance of getting guaranteed 100% crits), you're then able to reflect and run away. I know every Pyro in the world that uses the backburner is just gonna come down on me and say how Pyro is just so terribly underpowered but I'd rather use the degreaser anyway. Shoot a spit of flame then insta-axtinguisher your foes into 1-hit-guaranteed-death. You know thats 65% weapon switch speed is godly.

I'm cool with the Flare Gun change, I'd still prefer the shotgun for most cases. I suppose the increased ammo usage for the airblast on the BB is fine.. but I'm just sitting here really uneasy. I'll save the rest of my bitching for when I start to see things play out..

Also I main soldier, having to switch out my main weapon for the shotgun kinda sucks but whatever. Just a game and all that, I just liked catching that one asshole pyro off guard because he couldn't reflect my rockets.

Backburner can now do airblast? That just ruins the whole idea. Fuck that.

Buuuuut, backburner seems like it doesn't require much "thought" now to use (much like the rest of the pyro weps, but I won't go there)... Now it seems like you airblast someone up, run run under them, and turn around and crit the hell out of them.

Honestly, not a fan, but not a hater.

I was gonna make a joke about Valve taking the time to remove things from TF2 but we're still waiting for Ep3. But there seems to have been a lot of changes under the hood.

The flare thing seems OP, they've kinda reduced the effectiveness of having a medic combo vs a pyro; having a medic should be an advantage. They've also reduced the importance of the pyro's DOT by doing this. 2 shots from a flare is enough to kill most classes and certainly at least remove one from combat as they go to heal up/extenguish themselves after just 1. It's like they've just assumed an enemy player will have a medic healing them, rendering the flare gun mostly useless. But that's also why the pyro has the option of a shotgun. Shotgun for close brust damage, flare for medium-long range DOT.

But what happens if i preordered for PS3 and get the free copy on steam. Do i get my pin? :O
Also love the loch n load changes. You boys are going down!

What i like the most about this is the changes listed on the website. The steam voice codec sounds really cool and after the coaching system just maybe ill find players who can actually play well again.

I'm almost ready to say flares are OP now, been playing with them and they just seem crazy

Flares already crit burning targets from quite short distance, i don't get it why this change was made, and why people NOW says flare is OP, this is not that much different and shotgun is still better at dealing with enemies up close.

Training mode is really interesting in an amusing sort of way. There's an achievement that you get for completing them which I never noticed before.

The spy training mode is basically "here's cloak, here's disguise, here's backstab, lol, good luck."

I don't know about other people when they play engineer, but the first thing I tried to do is climb on all the crates using a dispenser. I got almost to the tippy top of the tallest stack by the office but the final task is to destruct all your buildings. I kept my teles up, but apparently it only counts number of destructions, not specific buildings going down... so destroying and rebuilding my dispenser to climb the stack of crates counted and training completed. Heh.

I also found it amusing during demo training how they filled the zone with targets and let you sticky them. Kinda "lol, kill the whole team" thing.

Nope, flares only mini-crit. Well, not anymore, obviously.

What's DOT? Damage over time?

Yes.

and they've already reduced the burn damage by 40% when they increased burn damage but reduced the amount of time players are on fire for.

The amount of heavies i've shot with a flare at point blank (as i usually play flamethrower-flare-axetinguisher), i would have thought i'd have noticed if the text wasn't "mini-crit". But anyway... kinda gettin a little OT.
