Yet another instance where I have to make a post to say "I disagree" because we don't have a disagree option.I don't think it's necessary to code in a signature limit; rather we should point it out to users when their signatures are too big.
Then why not take the opportunity to explain why you disagree?Yet another instance where I have to make a post to say "I disagree" because we don't have a disagree option.
Thats why there should be no disagree button. We decided not to include any negative responses because we feel it would be more worthwhile to post why you disagree with something instead of just clicking on a button with no explanation. The negative votes on other communities often lead to a pretty passive aggressive toxic environment at times, and we didn't want to encourage that developing here.
If someone posts why they disagree with something, you can now agree with it using the new system.
That's the whole point of not having a disagree button.Yet another instance where I have to make a post to say "I disagree" because we don't have a disagree option.
There is nothing to explain. We don't go around demanding people explain why they have opinions. Why doesn't Seba have to justify his opinion when I have to justify disagreeing with it?Then why not take the opportunity to explain why you disagree?

Not having a disagree button also stifles all the situations where the explanation is so short you'd basically be making a 1 line post. I'm fine making shorter posts but I bet a lot of users don't want to make super short posts for a single sentence explaining why they disagree. So we're getting bias in the opinions shown.
Furthermore, as ICS says, there have been several instances where people have posted flat out incorrect information. A disagree option can visibly tag a post as containing problematic material which would (hopefully) get readers to continue scrolling past the first answer to see the correct info posted later. There are definitely cases where someone searches something, finds an answer that's wrong, and misses the correct answer that's further down the thread.
@worMatty Point's been made to the staff cave, thread has already outlived its purpose.
