I see no reason why it wouldn't be on a weekend.

Heh... Already have a plan drawn up for a two-CP map which I think is going to be awesome to play. I was just about to start on it, but I guess I could hold off for twenty-four hours. Best of luck to everyone!

Well, I can't participate. I still see no reason why it can't just be postponed to the weekend, where a lot more people could enter. Why does it HAVE to be during the week? Wouldn't the weekend be a much more sensible time anyway?
Also, you can't expect me to check every thread every day, so yeah, I missed it. The date's not okay with me.

Yeah, I was kind of ignoring that thread since like 6 pages were arguing over how much time you should realistically spend detailing and testing so excuse me for missing it

And I also thought it was going to be July. That's something I heard in the chat, not this weekday business

But anyway I don't know why you think "When will everyone have the most shared free time? Probably middle of the week" because that isn't what I think

you can keep posting your arguments here but I don't think muffin is going to change the dates anymore... you say: there's no reason why it shouldn't be in the weekend, well I say: there is no reason it should either... you can't always make everyone happy..

And maybe there will be a new contest soon? Who knows!

Maybe because the weekend is traditionally when people have time off? In pretty much every country?

If you miss it, there'll be another. With the major annual/semi-annual contest over with i'm sure there'll be an official mini-contest around the corner. It's not like this'll be the only unofficial contest either, you guys can run a 72 hour contest when ever you want, why are you making out like it's the end of the world? We've got another 6 months before that. Plenty of 3 day periods ahead to plan events in.

Well I was looking forward to entering this one.
But typically ignorant people forget to realize that other people have lives, and not everyone on "summer break".
And yes, I am a little angry at this.

Okay, you can blame me for bad judgement (especially yyler), because I should've considered that some people do have jobs - and I'm sorry for that - but it seems to be the case that most of this community is in fact going to school and have summer holidays now (sorry Aly/Australians), so I did not consider the older crowd. Still, it should be possible to make a simple project during that time even if you've got work, if you really want to participate.

I can't host the contest next weekend due to absence, and now that the thread is up I don't want to delay it two weeks for the good of a minority. I hope you can understand this.

There's very little time. It's the end of term for me, I have exams, and there's barely any time to do any mapping. That's why I said mid-july :|

This exactly. Plus, understanding that a lot of people are out of school now, having it on monday-wednesday instead of over the weekend just seems ridiculously thought out and unplanned.

So yeah, I'm not entering, purely because I CAN'T enter
