Can we call it the summer jelly jam instead? (jk lol)
Late june and early july are the best for me, and anyone in schools in the US for that matter.
I love the idea of brining some form of compititon to it, without it being a straight up competition. With the titles, some could be staff picks, some could be community voted.
Also I would really like to see if the SFM community could get in on this one, Only thing close was the posters that were made.
(maybe also giving them more then 72 hours to make it)

@Geit, I see you've instituted a 72hr Jam medal? Is this planned to be awarded for participating in the next Jam?

Looks as if the site move ate my post in here, whooops.

I'm adding a poll on the date to the first page for dates. Something else to discuss: how do people feel about using the time to continue work on existing projects - such as detailing an existing map not starting a new one.

Yes - we were originally planning on providing it to everyone in the first jam, but in the end it wasn't really clear enough on participation. We'll tweak some things so it's clearer this time round.

I think making anything tf2 related is fine. I know some people have busy schedules, making working on maps and stuff difficult. However when you have a dedicated weekend to working on stuff, you can get a lot done. I have plans to just work mainly on updating my other maps (April fools map mainly) during the jam, as it's something that I want to do some day soon, and the jam is a good time to do it.

Semi-On topic about the badges, since the jam is a very obvios thing to stick around, why not just add a "Jam Participant" badge and when a user clicks on it to view it, it shows all the jams they've entered, so we dont have 4-5 Jams badge rows by 2017.

Also uber :trigger:'d for this one!

I'm in favor of the "paper plate award" style. Not a title for everyone, but maybe 20 or so across maps, textures, models, detail scenes, art, etc
This doesn't even need to come with prizes, just with the bragging rights. I think it can work out pretty good, and it doesn't even need to be serious, since there are no prizes involved, just the titles. So we can skip judgement completely and just have the person running the Jam deciding these according to what he's seen.
