At first glance I noticed it was different as it's definitely a lot shorter and bulkier than the normal medigun.

Still feel the silhouette isnt different enough? (the handguard is totally gone now)

When i run into a heavy medic pair i want to really see what the medic is holding. I can tell whether it's a kritz by whether it's glowing more or not. If i ran into a medic pair from around the corner i doubt i would have time to sufficiently distinguish those 2 what with all the particle effects and action.

If i had longer than a second to analyse the situation yea i probably would notice the difference. There obviously is a difference, i just don't think that difference is enough.

okey, thanks for that link. guess it's all about which bone to attach it to ^^
thanks for clearing things up for me !

i think you should just go for one of these cylinders attached and scale it up, because the 2 or 4 of them just get lost ingame, imo. they're too tiny details compared to the scale of the model

:( I like all four of them

Also, about the KK vs medigun recognition that's utter bull. I can never tell when another medic has a KK until he's activated it normally.

I will however seek to distinguish it more with the texture.

Yeah this is true, I can only recognize it from the particles.

I think you should go for a longer, thinner needle gun. Your idea for 5% ubercharge per hit with needles could work, but maybe they should go faster and not fire for as long, otherwise uber will be so easy to get.

thats .5% not 5%

5% would go waaay too fast.

@ Mangy I can only hope valve will listen when I submit it and suggest new functionality. I really don't want just a reskin (how lame!!)

I like your medigun reskin a lot, but it is a bit too similar than the original medigun.

May I suggest either:
--changing the colour of the front of it so that it's easily distinguishable from all sides (the side view is easy to distinguish but from the front, like in Grazr's situation, it looks too similar)
--change/remove the handle up top. Since the Medic has to hold it the same way, maybe make it red or alter it slightly so it still is held the same way but looks different from the front.

I really really like the flamethrower heal idea, should be easy enough to code for Valve and would be pretty awesome in terms of upping Medic functionality

It was just an non-serious suggestion by myself but, the more I think about it, the more plausible it sounds.

'Finished' the Schwaben Charger 9000 (thanks to acumen who is from stuttgart for the advice on a name)

Using finished in inverted commas because I've got a month left to tweak it if I see fit, which I probably will.

Yep but nobody really knows why when almost every texture in game (certainly all the weapons) have 1024^2 textures. :\

yeah the rules say you have to submit a .QL, .OBJ, or .MT and yet valve are actually willing to take just an .smd.

So I'm sure they'll take a 1024 texture, and if they dont like it they have the powers to resize it.

Tut mir Leid Leute aber "Schwabencharger" ist ja mal ein dämlicher Name >_>
(Sorry guys but "Schwabencharger" is one ridiculous name >_>)

So if you really want to allude to Stuttgart or Schwaben or anything like that, please think of a better name. =/

Es ist dumm, aber lustig.

(its silly, but funny)

Medic doesnt speak like a german would anyway, he speaks how an american/english person would imagine.

Care for an explanation on the name? In my opinion it should connect to the effect of the gun, not just a random german word that I believe few will understand.

I really like how it turned out, the bulkier, heavier gun looks like it's capable of more than healing just one person (hint!??!?!?!?!).

Hope you move about make all the other weapons soon!

I was thinking, of fitting with the bulky nature of the gun, to give it stats along the line of these:

+50% overheal bonus
+50% overheal time (decays slower)
no Ubercharge

It would be a good weapon for the supportive medic, and helping more people at once without having to implement healing more targets at once. It would also give people a use for the bonesaw.
