Nah, that's just the form you have to fight before it becomes a fullbright one-winged angel.
I really don't like that ground texture, looks like molten Marshmellow over a bar of chocolate. Although Delicious, it looks bad, in my opinion.

Yes, the old coldfront lighting will be coming back, I just need to change it.
Though, a night-time snow storm...
You could probably light it in such a way that it'd work, but yea. Might not be the best of idea's.
After some advice from helpful folks here, ive decided the first stage just isnt working as i'd like, so ive completely redone it

Kiddnils, where is your sky_camera entity located? It should be within the skybox itself, not anywhere else. That's the only thing I can think of that would be causing your sky problem. I would also like to say that this is looking a lot better.
