Cower, peasants! Flee, terrified ronin! Crap in your ancient Japanese bamboo underpants, feudal warlords! For something approaches unlike anything you have ever seen! The Shogun Pack -- a collaboration between Team Fortress 2, the TF community, and Total War: Shogun 2 -- descends upon you like a rising sun! (But in reverse.)

If the demoman gets 1 more melee weapon, I'm going to respectfully retire from TF2 and TF2 mapping. The only legitimate weapon that the demo has gotten past stock is the Scottish Resistance IMO, the rest are somewhat of a joke.

I'm beginning to think these things are going to become a weekly recurrence.

interesting mechanics shouldn't be 100% invested in melee weapons. moar primary weapons.

seriously what use does a normal heavy have with warriors spirit + steak?

The best Heavy gear is Sasha/Sandvich/GRU

so no

agree 100% with the primary weapons thing though. Or secondary even

I suppose I just don't think a DEMOman should have 8 alternate melee weapons and only 3 alternate weapons that ACTUALLY EXPLODE. And one of them is the Caber, which works but is still a joke of a weapon.

I'm SCOTTISH and I felt insulted when they gave the demo another claymore.

I think, for me, this is TF2's shark-jumping moment. I'll bet it was earlier for some people.

Seriously, you should quit out right now then. This is not the last one, and if a demo melee weapon is going to make you quit, you kinda probably don't like TF2 at the point anyways. You're too proud of your heritage. Do you think I got pissed off when the engineer got some shitty hats? No, because I don't identify myself with the engineer based on nationality and location.

Was just trying to point out the ridiculousness of some of these recent updates, no need start playing the assumption game. I suppose I should start using italics for emphasis, and not caps. In real life I tend to be pretty sarcastic and I apologize if it didn't translate well over text. No need for hostility.

BEST UPDATE EWAR!!!

Fall damage = Server crash xD

For the "new" items: I just ignore them... it´s the best way to deal with it :p

EDIT: Oh... a new update! I think Valve has found the problem... :p

I'm seriously starting to wonder if anyone who worked on creating this game even still works for Valve besides Robin (who I only know still works there because his name keeps coming up), or if the entire game got handed over to Steam's (not Valve's) marketing division now.

On the lighter side, hey, more LOD stuff. How much you wanna bet the new items have no optimization whatsoever, though?

You know how everyone says that Valve should just take a step back for a moment and just stop adding weapons? Well, I guess the entirety of all the steam communities weren't loud enough, because they don't appear too keen on stopping production.

It's not Valve, it's the community. So Valve aren't wasting their time on anything.

TMP: People are simply disappointed that when weapons are finally released for a class that they enjoy that when they turn out to be completely irrelevant to the class role, let alone TF2 in general... well why are you so surprised that people get mad and rage, even if it's unethically about more free stuff.

Yes demomen players can ignore the current new weapons and just not get mad at all the melee stuff, but that doesn't stop them hurting about the potential a weapon update could have for a class that hasn't technically had a real weapon update ever.

Melee weapons are fun and all but i sympathise with demomen players when their only options are vanilla spamtasticman or useless dark knight. It's only more frustrating that when a class continues to be updated with gear that never actually improves on it's dynamics that when they complain the rest of the community's only response is to troll their disappointment with sarcastic or unhelpful remarks.

Demomen players are well within their right to make complaints. As are any other players if they don't like something about their circumstances. You think the pyro would have gotten the airblast if people didn't complain about soldiers? It's about time the demoman got something shooty.
