I hope I don't come across as too critical here. That's not my intention.
Byre is excellent, I had a lot of fun on that one. Unfortunately it's arena, and I think they don't want to promote arena anymore. Converting it to koth might create similar issues to the original version of suijin.
Probed would be good, but personally I think it's gone way overboard with the gimmicks. It's difficult to focus on actually playing with so much stuff going on around you... seems more like a Halloween map honestly (as an aside, would really love to see Crash going back to making more high quality maps like Stoneyridge and less reddit-fodder like trainsawlaser wubwub).
Watergate has a lot of potential and doesn't go overboard on the gimmicks (it's easy to tell when the ship is coming through, and there aren't any distracting aliens popping up all over the place), but one side of the map is super confusing and it requires a plugin to make the mode work. I keep meaning to run through the map and get Egan some feedback, but I've been super busy lately... might be too late now if invasion is as close as it seems.
Of these three listed in the invasion group, I'm hoping to see a koth version of Byre.
The other map I really liked from the contest was pl_inari, but I think Aly removed all the invasion content from it. I don't think I ever actually played mudwater. The others I just don't remember.
