Dr. Squishy and I are thinking about creating an industrial pack.

Currently there are some assets for industry, but they are often single assets and have distinct themes that make them look awkward together.

We are looking for others input.

Items to include:
- Modular pipes. Size and color varients, with dooddads like valves, pressure gauges, etc
- Modular trusses.
- Large storage tanks, cylinders, horton spheres
- Distilation towers
- Train loading / unloading mechanisms
- Concrete tire skid overlays
- Oil spill overlays
- Oil pump / derrick
- Cooling towers
- Boilers
- Metal rolls
- More steel girders

Would also be nice to have different types of boilers, different size smoke stacks, new warning labels, road markings, maybe some metal rolls, specialized train cars?

What kind of warning signs were you thinkin? There are a bunch of ones that have "days since last accident"
Maybe one for "Don't forget to wear a hardhat"?

I was more talking about OSHA sighs such as this or these

I'm curious, what benefit do you see in models for columns and trusses? Brushes already do those fairly well while lighting better and being more flexible. Best use case I can think of for models are finer detail things like bolted joints between pieces, anything brushwork can't already do. If you want to spice up your ceilings, I'd recommend models for things like fans, air ducts, pipes (especially those for fire sprinkler systems), lighting, and so on.

Assembly robots are pretty new technology and did not really exist in TF2's time period. Might fit for an Australia themed map?

Also, I would recommend, in addition to train loading dock assets, truck loading dock assets. Example. I work with this stuff pretty regularly for my job, so I can provide guidance if needed.

So Squishy allowed me to use a 'preview' pack of instances which were a part of her recent map, and I would say that I'm quite impressed with how far they can be used.

Here is an example of something I was working on with her instances, and as shown you can do some pretty cool shit with them:

So I think my suggestion is I want to see more of that, I believe that perhaps the instance pack showed off in the discord is a precursor to what this pack can entail and what you'd want in it. The thing that I'd want to see are if you're using brushwork for stuff like this, then make it properly optimized (no hidden brushfaces, func_detailed areas), and make it polished. I think stuff like this can work but it'd need to be heavily modular so that you aren't constricted to the massive size these things are.

This is just how large these props can get. One can get them to work with a map (as long as you incorporate decent architecture) but some things might just be far too massive for the scale tf2 maps can get to.

So my suggestions are to have modular 'pieces' of these refinery setpieces which allow mappers to have differently sized areas. Ideas for this could be things like modular pipes and smokestacks (and tanks).
