What I meant was the guy's eyes were reflecting an interior (which, apparently, is a closed indoor room), but behind himself was a bright blue sky. It doesn't itch the eye a lot (eye reflections aren't that easy to spot and recongnize) though.

Ah, now I get it!

The background was originally something more reddish so it could fit the interior, but i noticed that his big bald head (which I wanted to be the focus of the picture) was kind of blending in it, so I made the background blue in post so the character would pop out more.

Since I don't know how to shade very well and I'm too lazy to clean up the lines I guess I'll just leave this here:

Scratch art is using paper with a layer of dried ink on it, and scratching the ink off with a blade. It's rather fun, but also has a lot of pressure as each of your strokes are permanent. I first used the scratch paper in late October, and quickly made some ideas and designs for a big project using the method. After a couple of weeks: here is the final product.

Yo, so one of my concept artist friend send me a little pdf goldmine for anyone interested in video game/movie artbooks, figured i'd post it here. (There's also some comics, if the name Moebius rings a bell for anyone, there's a huge collection of that, and a bunch of other stuff, just a dump of art goodness)

https://drive.google.com/drive/fold...ZPTVFJaHNyQjUzRkhhOUN0aVR1NmVFbWc3dnNjSklMbVk

It all comes from 2 vk.com pages (the russian facebook)
https://vk.com/c_artbook
https://vk.com/conceptart
The google drive is neatly organised and labeled but I dont think it's as complete as theses pages.

Notable movies and games artbooks pdf you can find there are Half life 2, all Blizzard games, Zelda, Final Fantasy, Blade Runner, Star wars, Mad Max, Dishonored 2....Half life 2's artbook is super interesting, it has a few pages explaining how Valve designed HL2 levels in hammer. It's more a making of than an artbook.
Anyways, hope that helps anyone.

Created for this contest.

(These animal costumes may not look too sad. However, the marshmallows wearing them are sad inside, and that's the saddest sadness of all.)

Took a 56 year old train today (for those interested: a 1960 all-Dutch (the last train series to be build solely in the Netherlands) build Mat '54 no. 766 "Hondekop" which literally translates to "Doghead" because of its distinct nose) for a drive trough the western and southern part of the Netherlands (I like trains, that's why). Here are some pics.

For Christmas, I got an Intuos Art, which is my first graphics tablet. I've been spending every minute of my time playing around with it, and drawing many various things. I'm absolutely in love with the tablet, and would recommend it to anyone who's looking for a new graphic's tablet.

I'm really proud of this picture, hopefully to be used as an avatar by @Muddy . Its the first thing I've finished with this tablet, and I think it came out really well. The image is 2448 x 3264 pixels.

EDIT: Made some adjustments requested by @Muddy :

I also did some quick sketches/portraits to practice using the tablet. Here I sketched @phi and @iiboharz respectively.

I did this rough landscape when showing my cousins what I can do with the tablet, inspired by the techniques of Bob Ross. While my family was watching me draw, they fell asleep, and later told me that it was so calming to watch that it put them to sleep, almost like ASMR or something similar.

I'm having so much fun using this tablet, and I hope you all enjoy these pieces!
