Considering getting back into mapping after 10 years, is Hammer++ the way to go?

Topic. I used to map frequently, and took a longer break than intended. I've been looking into some programs that expand on Hammer's capabilities, is Hammer++ the way to go? Or is it buggy? I searched the forums here for some info and didn't see much said about it.

it relatively new, which my be why it isn't as well known, most mapping tutorials are much older than it, and as such do not reference it what so ever

I sure do. Love the particle preview. Make sure you disable the clipping setting under options > hammer++.

It can still crash but the big advantage is that when it does, it usually autosaves the map you're working on in the Autosave folder.
