use a really big brush to block out shapes of hills, along with the smooth tool. Then go in with a smaller brush for fixup.
So, I use a bigger displacement, shape it up. Then a smaller one, and then I delete the big one?

no sorry, i used the wrong word. When you edit the displacement use a bigger radius value. I also suggest using a distance value of only 1 or 2; it takes longer but gives nicer results.

Thanks for linking 3kliksphilip, but you really didn't have to.

I watched his tutorials like 3 times now. :D

Hey, guys.
In the meantime I have remade the map to be VSH compatible.
It currently runs on only 1 server and I have still found some bugs.

Changelog of A3:

  • Made walls to the cliff (probably should've been bigger)
  • Fixed some displacements that were showing the skybox underneath
  • Some rocks were floating. NOT ANYMORE!

That's pretty much it for now.

Generally people dont give much feedback just in threads, and if people really do want to leave feedback then they will find the thread anyways. If you want more feedback put the map in an imp or gameday.

Also people tend to pay more attention to maps the further into development they get.
Then we are in a dilemma, because I don't know what to do for the next version without any feedback.

A4 Changelog:
  • Added trimping ramps in the outer side of the walls
  • Added shadow control
  • Made the spawns bigger
    • Each spawn has 16 spawns instead of 12
  • The walls in the spawns aren't paper thin anymore
  • Made the capture time smaller
