Maybe this is stupid, but I'm a little bit excited that bots work in Dustbowl. I love using bots to practice as a Spy, and I've noticed they've taken some care to have bots be suspicious of you if they've heard a spy decloak in the vicinity.

Also, I can't wait to get home and try out the new menu and get to playing. I've been hoping there will be plenty of new players.

Bots work very well on my multistage cp map (same as dustbowl) took a really long time to build the 5mb nav file though. but once game was on:

OK, so NAV files in TF2 are good, but AIN files will crash things, right?

But in other mods, AIN files are OK and good to have?

I wrote a tool that computes differences between GCFed content a while back, I'll run it when I get home and post a list of all the new assets in the update.

They removed mat_picmaps -10



That is one of the dumbest things Valve has ever done.

mat_picmaps? Sounds like after "For Mac" the next step is Google TF2 Maps.

Picmap is the method that valve uses to reduce texture quality on the fly. Higher values mean lower quality. You could make it as low as -10.

BTW, I've noticed this stuff never gets posted in "TF2 News" anymore. Is that forum dead?

Also, I don't know when they did it exactly, but I no longer get temporary freeze-up and broken-record sound when I open the Achievements list. It's been this way since before today's update, but I don't know when they fixed it.
