Anime Mapping Contest?

Hello everyone,

After browsing the TF2 Maps site for about a year now and witnessing all the cool and exciting maps and the epic contests that come and go... I thought I would have an input on a potential contest idea that I had in mind...

THE ANIME BATTLE MAPPING CONTEST

The rules would be that you had to create a map based on a certain Anime battle scene (it could be anything from attack on titan, one piece, fairy tail etc.) It could be any vanilla map type you want, but it would have to involve some aspects of the battle and not just be set in the scene.

Does anyone have an opinion on this as a mapping contest?

Does when Okabe Rintaro find Makise Kurisu in the shower and she slap him (I think, haven't seen it in a while) count as a fight scene?

I don't watch or enjoy anime so I would have no way to participate in this contest, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. It's a bit too specific of a theme that's only going to be relevant to a certain percentage of the mapping community, and then what percentage of that is even going to enter?

Good point, but it seemed like a good idea to open up anyway. Still, I would like to see a MVM map based off Attack on Titan. (I'm not the best at map making though)

Can we do it from an anime that isn't a generic shounen?

Seriously though, we could do it, but I feel it would be better suited to a community that doesn't make maps for a game with a solid art style and very strict gameplay already. Maybe something like polycount or mapcore would be better for this.

Dude. Slaps require a fight director if you're in a play, so I do consider it a fight.

I'm not sure what you are imagining with fighting. TF2 is all about fighting eachother.
Representing fights from animes (especially the boring shounen ones) seems like impossible or very hard to do, without cutting actualy gameplay of the map.
I'd rather want to see maps which represents locations from animes. Or maybe movies or games.
Have you played the touhou maps for vsh?

Every time I see Konoha Village from Naruto, it just feels like it'd make a great map.
