CEVO is host to a new tournament, "The Vanilla Challenge." Teams will compete for cash prizes with first place receiving $1000 and a spot in the main division in their upcoming season nine. Maps have not yet been announced.

I don't really see the point in letting any unlocks in if the whole idea is that it's a vanilla contest. I mean, I honestly think the Kritzkrieg is as fundamental to the core gameplay elements at this point as the regular Medigun, but if you're going to base a tournament around a gimmick like all-vanilla teams, then you should be consistent.

Also, why are the only allowed unlocks all for the Medic? Is the Crusader's Crossbow really more "vanilla" than, say, Bonk or Jarate?

They also allow reskins, fuck that. The Original is also not a reskin.

A Heavy is pretty squishy when he doesn't have his sandvich and that Scout can't be as agile without that Atomizer.

This is a legitimate question since I've never actually used the original, but what does it do differently from the default rocket launcher? I honestly thought it was the same.

Yes, they do.

I usually consider people who use the quake launcher obnoxious twats and specifically go out of my way to pick on them during combat because they annoy me.

I don't know why people prefer the projectile to come straight from the middle. People claim it balances corner shots because you can do equally well from either the left or right rather than the uneven angle of the stock RL, but tt takes away one of the subtle elements of weapon design that make the primaries in TF2 so good. It would be like making the Demo's pills perfectly round so they bounce more predictably.
