Are gmod pictures ok to do? SFM ain't my thing.
Hi,I'm very new to mapping but I think I'll give it a try. I got a few questions. Does the map have to be perfect with skybox, lightnings etc? Can you only use dev textures on your map?
Your map must contain lights (however basic - for instance just some light entities around the place and an environment light for the outdoor areas), and doesn't need a 3D skybox. You can also most certainly use dev textures for your submission. Just make sure that your map follows the rules outlined in the OP and you'll be fine.
Yeah, they're fine.
Since it isn't specified anywhere. Does an MvM map need to be fully functional, like, including nav file and mission popfile? The former isn't really a problem to make, but the latter can take quite some time and I rather spend that time on the map. So can I use an already existing popfile from Mannworks, since the design I have in mind is similair to that map? Or can I just skip nav editing and popfile creating in its entirity? I will probably make/edit them if I have time left, but I just want to make sure.
Not sure. But even them - It's severely hard to push working mvm w/ .nav in 72hr. If you do, all MvM mappers will ask to collab xD
I'm gonna make an SFM poster (since that's my thing, i guess), and since i have 72hrs to do that I'll try to make it as good as I can.
It's up to you - would you feel that you'd done enough if you did a map without nav or popfile? It would still count without it, but how much work you do is up to you.
You can always make more than one! There's no hard limit on how much content you can make for the jam!
There's no hard limit on how good you make it, either. As proved by the previous jam, quality > quantity
EDIT: if I was someone else, I could get witty as hell by showing a screenshot of my post count. Since I'm not anyone else, I gotta get witty as hell by making this edit
I got a question/submission. I am a video creator and i currently make Dance videos about Taunts, the videos are based on Just Dance, (the dance game for PS3, PS4 or Wii U)
Question: Can i submit a video of mine for the 72Hour, Not now, but as soon as the TF2Jam starts
Thanks in advance
You have to make the whole thing during the 72 hours.
I see, i will try that soon
I re-checked my schedule and I have an exam on the 13th, so it looks like I won't be able to participate. Better luck next time.
For once I have lots of free time this weekend. I think I'll participate.
But what are the times in PST?
There's a time converter listed in the OP.
Tried using that buggy crap.
So 10 am Friday to Monday at 10 am?
Works fine for me.
Iiboharz has kindly reminded me that the hashtag for the jam is #tf2jam - that's what you should use if you're sharing jam stuff on Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, or that wierd social network Google made and then forgot about.
Will be entering! I've been working on an SFM for a while now, and I will finish it after the Jam, but I hope my experience from that helps me in the Jam.
Also, 'tis my first Jam. I feel good about it. I feel confident.
