Tf2 crashes before menu screen loads when trying to load any map

I’ve had this problem for 3 days now. It doesn’t matter what map I compile then load, tf2 always crashes before the menu screen loads.

Does it do with official maps too?

Might need to re-verify your game cache

Does TF2 crash if you launch it through Steam? If you can successfully launch TF2 from Steam, try using the console to then manually load your map.

I have tf2 downloaded, but for some reason steam thinks I haven’t downloaded it yet. I can’t just redownload it because I have no more space. This wasn’t a problem in the past, hammer worked fine and Tf2 worked as well. Because steam thinks that tf2 hasn’t been downloaded, I can not reveries the game cache
