2 months of solid work was still well worth the effort of entering and producing a completed map..

Everyone is a winner in my book.. it took a big commitment to see it through to the end and at there is a great deal of satisfaction in knowing that Valve and the TF2 team took time to play all our entries..

With the comp being over is there any issue with us upping our entries to FPSbanana and other custom map sites? With it being a Valve layout and all? It would be nice to see people playing them considering the effort that was put in.

Ha, a thought just occurred. What if Mangy and Ace were the same person, and the two users were just a scheme to make people watch Iron Mapper?

I always liked 3DNJ:s entry but YM winning came as a bit of a surprise.
But congratulations to both of you anyway!

I don't think any mapper can waste their time by mapping, I mean, you always learn something and get better at it. But what's a shame with this contest is that all the maps are the same, so the not-winning maps might not get played very much. But then again there are a thousand versions of 2fort and people play those too...

Question: After Valve releases these maps, is there a chance to see another playable entries with apropriate names? For example, if maps will be called cp_artpass_final and cp_artpass_event, shall we see cp_artpass_acegikmo, cp_artpass_honeymustard, cp_artpass_swordz, etc, or another names of this map?

In that case, you're still welcome to play the most recent version. However, they will not be officially released and most likely will go unplayed considering they're the same map as the winning ones.

I can see some servers pulling a 24/7 2Fort and having all the custom ones on it as well. But it's not 2Fort, so I can't see it being anywhere near as popular.

Honestly, It didn't matter to me who won in the end, a lot of them were really good. But all I know is that there will soon be a ton of new themes to work with.
