Pink floor problem

    Hi! I'm new at these forums and I recently got this problem with my map.

    Yeah, I get this when I try 'buildcubemaps'

    Funny thing, I always get those same errors. But I've use sky_gravel_01 and sky_hydro_01. I get that -game thing too.

    But I currently ran all the commands and all my cubemaps built fine. But now the truck is shiny all over :(
    Why valve why? Truck tires don't shine!

    Your's looks weird though, I think the pink IS from cubemaps not being built, however it also looks like z-fighting, are you sure you don't have 2 floors? Maybe you accidentally cloned one.

    It's just 1 floor, actually I just removed it and made new one but got the same result.
    Other rooms are just fine.

    Could you get a close up of that? Also.. what texture is that?

    I changed the texture from concrete/concretefloor004 to tile/floor_tile_001a and now it looks like this [​IMG]

    Do you have a REALLLY small scale on it?

    That just looks like an effect you'd get with either z-fighting or maybe real small sale.

    Unless you are making a phycadelic map 8o

    change your sky and rebuild cubemaps.
    there are also some textures that are just plain bad. not sure which ones tho.

    I changed sky and rebuilded cubemaps but still nothing. And yeah the scale is right.

    do you have an env_cubemap in that spawn? about head height?

    try mat_reloadtextures (or similar) in console after you build your cubemaps. You need sv_cheats on for it to work, but it got rid of all the pink for me.

    After you build your cubemaps, disconnect from your server. Recreate it, turn on sv_cheats and run mat_reloadallmaterials.

    In your source SDK do you have the game set to TF2?

    when I launch Hammer(SDK) I choose TF2. I also get that same -game directory error when building cubemaps.
    In one map I have yet to successfully get cube maps working even though they 'built' (drew all the pics).
    However the sniper map I just released built cubemaps fine even though I got the same errors.
    One difference. In the first map I think I only had one cubemap to test, the sniper map has about 20. At first I thought they didn't build and I had the pink cube reflection thing in my sniper scope that I had in windows of my other level (could see a '3d room' built of pink/black squares in the windows).
    After running around my sniper map they worked. Not sure if I exited and reloaded or if they just started working.

    I am starting to think my first map either:
    1-doesn't have enough cubemaps
    or
    2-I just didn't get close enough to the one to 'trigger it' to work.

    I'll test later and post back.

    No need to reply unless you know exactly what is wrong. Mostly just posting for prosperity when others search.
