nav help

    I have created the nav file using "nav_generate" but the bots will not use it!

    They just stand in the spawn point doing nothing!!

    What in the name of Celestia am I doing wrong?

    The AI bots in TF2 just don't work with some (most) gamemodes. If your map isn't Attack/Defend, CTF, Payload or KOTH, then you're outta luck.

    If the bots don't have a valid objective to play around, they don't do anything.

    You are using the correct bot type, right? The legacy bots are dumb as bricks and can't even walk straight. Or at all.

    And of course, check that the navmesh covers all the play areas. The bots really don't like working outside of the navmesh.

    AI bots (tf_bot_) will attempt to look for capturable objects so if a map doesn't have any of that then the bots won't move (also goes for pd_ and passtime. Bots aren't programmed for custom game modes so you may need real players if you want a custom game mode tested. (I don't recommend testing with bots though.)
