Do you have water up there or have you walked on those "farm" blocks? Ground looks dry.
An quite old picture of my mountian side base.
I've been playing around with mods and custom generators, there's some pretty cool mods out there. Particularly notable were the Mo' Creatures mod (I scored a pegasus and a nightmare), betterlight/grass, builders and with biometerrainmod you can get some pretty freakin' awesome maps generated. For example:
WARNING: Be careful of what SMP servers you go on, if you get (emotionally) attached to your creations. SOME server admins have a bad habit of wiping the ENTIRE MAP without any warning or discussion. In my case, it was "to reduce lag".
Less laggy towards what purpose, though?
I CLEARED AN ENTIRE MOUNTAIN AND MADE A CITADEL, DAMMIT.
I was a mod, too. Bugger that though. It didn't even reduce the lag particularly.
Some servers go onto Map rotation to keep things fun
Also, if it was popular server it was probably a large map, and with a lot of people, possible spread out all over the place, it would be a lot of the Server to handle. Thus, lagg.
You're missing the point here.
When you work the soil the top layer of soil (grass) is removed. The grass does however slowly (or sometimes quickly/instantly) returns. As i said, i just farmed a load of wheat and worked the soil so there are some non-grassy patches of dirt.
One thing that is kinda annoying me is that when a large portion of the wheat has matured passive mobs start spawning in my garden and wipe my crops out. It's kinda annoying having to keep returning to the garden (from mining) to kill chickens and pigs.
So about the new water mobs...
Telltale has a contest to make something Homestar Runner related out of "wood" (which can be real or fake), so I built an enormous wooden Trogdor in Classic.
There's probably some kind of mod or cheat I could have used to make it go faster, but I liked the challenge of building it all by hand.
But before you say I'm wrong:
Sorry, but Notch is *gasp* WRONG
By definition, They are Octopi.
Does the Wiki really read 'octopuses'?
Join the TF2M's server then.
"Octopuses" is more correct. "Ocotopi" assumes a root word that in fact does not and never has actually existed. In fact the proper plural is "octopodes".
Look it up.
Also they are meant to be squids, I think, unless Notch just messed up his English. Many people don't realize squids have more tentacles.
In formal English, octopodes is correct. However, in casual, functional English, the rule of Latin plurals has been adopted.
The "Latin plural" rule is first of all made up, and second of all wouldn't work on a basic word like "virus". Regardless, the ending of "octopus" is "-pus" (meaning foot) not "-us", so the made-up rule wouldn't apply anyway.
In casual, functional English, it's "octopuses".
Also, some research shows Notch did intend them to be squids, since they look like squids and the skin for them is squid.png.
Separate names with a comma.
