Got mine done as quickly as I could, going on holiday soon and returning 3days before the contest deadline.

Your images are set to private. I can't see them, but I get a 403 when I copy the links from the BBCode.

Here's the second batch of screenshots. I took grazr's advice and removed half of the trees, then twisted the rest. I also added power lines/pylons. Here are screenshots from 3 different sky/lighting settings. I'm not really sure which one looks best.

Also, since we're not going for gameplay, what's everyone's position on using gameplay props such as weapons in these?

I've already used a couple of sandviches and Bonks in mine...no there's not a crocodile infested picnic party...yes you can have that idea if you really want to...actualy no you can't. *Opens SDK*

I'm almost done, will most likely change some parts of it. Just one problem with my skybox however, becuase one part of the map is quite high, or if you go near the edge of the map, you can see the skybox repeating itself :unsure:

Hope this doesn't matter, unless there's a fix for it?

Anyway great work with the swamp pack, DO MOAR!!!

Those are all nice gents but I'd have to give grazr's the nod for right now. Sometimes less is more. Some of them looked overly packed with objects for such a small space.

Very cool though to see all the neat stuff people come up with.

I need to enquire as to the origin of:

player\gibs\gibs_licenseplate.mdl
player\gibs\gibs_can.mdl

As these were in a standard Valve directory, but i'm pretty sure are a part of "party mod" or something like that. And even if they were.. well. Either way, are these models allowable?

I would like to use them but obviously this may be breaking the rules if they are classified as "other custom content".

Hey, first off i want to say thanks for setting this up :D

I have been looking for an excuse to get back into mapping after a 2 year break. I used to work specifically with TF2 and CS:S (I hated CS:S, but liked the textures) ;D

I cant wait to get into this, it will be a test on what i am still capable with.

Only one concern:
When i DL the theme pack. I cannot, for the love of god, get the files extracted. It keeps giving me a non writable error ?:( Im guessing it has something to do with me probably not up to date on installing themes. Could some one please help me out here? Thanks a bunch :D

Hi,
I have a compiling problem with the sky_night_02 skybox.

Everytime Im trying to compile my swamp map with this skybox (or sky_night_01) I receive this error in the log and ingame the water texture becomes pink -_- ...
Code:
*** Error: Skybox vtf files for skybox/sky_night_02 weren't compiled with the same size texture and/or same flags!
Can't load skybox file skybox/sky_night_02 to build the default cubemap!

With different skyboxes my map works fine, so there has to be a problem with this skybox, or can anybody tell me what Im doing wrong?!

The skybox errors are normal, the water is pink because you haven't built cubemaps (assuming you have at least one env_cubemap in your map, or all reflective objects would be pink and not just the water).

I have solved this problem by running "buildcubemaps" in HDR and non HDR mode ingame.
Now the cubemap refelctions are perfect...

Yeah, alot of cool ideas so far. I started one but have a ways to go.

grazr's is a very nice postcard image.

But Flock has a tire swing!
I am not a congregation of birds thank you very much, its Flonk :p. Also from what ive heard there's another tree house floating around out there.

I've decided to make 2 different submissions. Eventually I will choose one of them and submit it. But for now, I'll just work on them a bit.

Here's the screenshot. I'm not sure if the truck is allowed (I think the prop is called "pickup"). So if it's custom I'll replace it with a dumptruck.
