Fixing the vvis/vrad problem without the Visual C Runtime?

So the problem with Hammer not finding/using vvis.exe or vrad.exe is still affecting me after I installed Visual C (I ran the redistributable and I guess that was the wrong one).
I'd really like to fix this without getting someone else to confirm their credentials (I'm not admin on my PC), does anyone know of a solution?

Did you try verifying your game files and repairing your Steam library folder?

I'd previously verified game cache to fix it, and that hadn't worked, but I tried again and it did... I feel kinda dumb now, but thanks for the suggestion, I'm so glad I can properly make maps again ^^
