Arena_watchtower_event - spooky halloween

Arena mode is pretty much dead but i liked this map so i decided to make a event version of it.
Also, Valve removed color correction so its way less spooki :I

I dont know if Valve will add community maps this year but i will give it a try because why not. hope you like it

If you update this map in the future, please please replace the rocks surrounding the map with something nicer looking, because right now they look like Ass (and also it makes no sense for the watchtower to be there when it can't even see anything except rock)

What would be A+ is a spoopy forest

You could increase the height of the clock tower, then it would make sense as to why its there.

But that would change the gameplay of the map, and require a lot of effort to line everything up. Plus, good reskins don't only just change textures and add a couple Halloween props here and there, they dramatically change the scenery. Replacing the rocks with a spooky, scary forest, or maybe even just hell (lava, skull, etc) would look MUCH cooler.

I kind of like this, except the interior of the watchtower looks really like a bunch of plopped in props without a purpose of what the inside is meant to feel like other than to be 'spooky.' I'd say get rid off the couches in my opinion, focus more on like maybe a place you'd wanna chill in if there was a storm outside type of feel. *Note: I'm kind of seeing a piano in one corner and a cabinet or something alike in the other.

Also, I kind of prefer the conveyer-belts over the wooden paths you've replaced them with...just seems kind of lazy of a replacement for something that really doesn't need replacing at all...

I really do like this map's original version so why the heck I wouldn't like this version?

In my opinion the outside of the watchtower looks extremely bland. Its just flat walls and windows, it doesn't look right. You may want to try have trims around the outside and sub out that wood texture for a more halloween-y one.

Important: Since http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Watchtower is a community made map you should mention the author (and on the workshop include him aswel). Not only that, did you ask permission (i dont know wether valve or JoshuaC has to give permission)? As you are aiming to get it ingame i still think this is important to know if your edit is even allowed. Since if it isnt, your effort might be useless (ofcourse, its never a waste since your edit might still be accepted by the community. but valve might permanently reject it because of that).

Also, that black water from the topdown looks realy bad. Maybe keeping it to the original water would have been better. Its not a must for a halloween map to have black water.

Looks like a lot of props are prop_dynamic. I can tell from the overlapping shadows.

I thought this was supposed to be that payload map with the last stage being impossible to complete or something.
