I think I saw one once but it was literally just two of the stock medigun put together.
I've been able to find it now, turns out it was a scrapped beta weapon. Thankfully the design and stats are different enough from my idea, so that if I can make one original enough it should be fine.
I need to find the tutorial to bring models made in Maya into the game.
I think it was the overdose, but there two different version of it.
Because we seem to be throwing out ideas: a non-gimicky pistol for both engineer and scout in the same style as the huo-long heater
25% more damage
16% smaller clip size
25% slower reaload speed
I may not know anything about modeling, but fan-made weapons are kinda my thing. I have a suggestion to make regarding this contest. I don’t know who to contact about it, so I’m just posting this here.
I know this is just a modeling contest, but it would be cool if the TF2Maps.net servers actually used some of the winning (and maybe runner-up) weapons and let players play with them, even if only for a limited time event-thing.
It’s possible with the Custom Weapons 3 plugin, which is publicly available. I’m one of the official devs for the plugin, so I could handle programming custom stats for the weapons. If there’s any interest in this idea, someone pm me!
Is that what Tightrope uses?
I've set up the voting process for a beta test. Give it a try at http://armsrace.tf2maps.net/vote.php and cast some votes so I can verify that the ranking calculations work as expected.
Please note: All test items have the same workshop link and image and the ranking is updated every 15 minutes
@Gadget You should make it automatically move to the next item after each vote, keep people on a roll.
This whole thing is slick as fuck tho. Nice work
Thanks! I've added a few more lines of code so it automatically moves to the next item after casting a vote successfully.
Voting is enabled now!
Visit the voting page and cast your votes. Voting will end on August the 11th at 8:00PM UTC. Winners will be revealed a few days after.
Head over to the winners page and take a look at the results.
Medals and prizes will be given out in the next few days.
If Valve ever adopts the Bouncing Betty, they should rename it the Bouncing Bonnie, because Scotland.
Bouncing Betty looks like its part of a set along with Scottish Resistance
