Best way to do remakes - actually remake it, not use the decompiled VMFs.

So why not? I mean, if it's being pitched as a prefab, then shouldn't it be all vanilla?

/agree - If it is a prefab they it should be vanilla and not modified to work different from the way valve has it setup in their game modes.

Each map has different needs. There will be different rush distances and different map topography that affects player movements, plus different objective cap rates/mechanics.

You can't provide a universal prefab because of these factors. You need to perform tests of trial and error, tweaking numbers minutely, in order to achieve the most enjoyable (and balanced) experiences for both teams. You shouldn't expect to pick up a prefab like this and have it work in your map off the bat.

The prefab is there for you to learn what functions are being used and how to use them, not as a short cut to making your map work. It will potentially make setting up game entities quicker by placing all the required entities in your map at once, but you'll still need to set up the variables yourself.
