2a. I'd say I prefer the Google Docs voting. I like that the voting was hidden until results were given out.
2b. I agree with YM that there were SO GODDAMN MANY MAPS to play. I'm not sure what to do about that though... Also, I've noticed a trend that people forget/don't care about the contests after 2-3 weeks after the deadline. Try to keep a more strict voting deadline and kick everyones ass to make sure people vote (you could try threatening to remove all their maps or something if they don't... that'll teach them!)
3. Double oatmeal cookies with chocolate in the middle

Half July-early August would be neat.

The old way works, so why change it.

Excuse me, how could you forget about triple chocolate chip? But my best cookie has to be fudge chip cookies (unless the tcc cookies have melted chocolate).

I personally like the old non-google form way better but the google forms method seems to get more people to vote, so I'm going to say that should happen again.

As for times, any time is okay for me to be honest as long as it's fri-mon as usual (though I'm gonna say June as everyone else seems to be too).

I thought that was just a MYTH! :O

Anyway, after looking through the posts, I say that the contest should REALLY be early August. Nobody's going to school at that time, and vacations are usually over by then. So it would be BY FAR the best option in my opinion.

Everyone that I see in this thread (that I know of) did not mention plans in august, but many did have plans for june & july. So if we put it in either of those 2 months, we're GUARANTEED to have a bunch of timing conflicts. But then we just have a big open gap in August where nothing is happening!

Yes, I understand that we can't accommodate for everyone's schedules. But that's why I say it should go in August, so we can bump up the amount of people able to participate by hopefully a substantial margin.

Or we could just open up the contest at the first week of june before anyone has a chance to go on vacation :p

No matter what time or date I set up, we're GUARANTEED scheduling conflicts. June/July is usually around the time when people are the most free and when previous ones have occured. When you start to hit early August, you start to get into school starting for college students, some parts of Europe and even some parts of the US. Albeit, it's a few weeks out, but ya' know. Running through the thread again, End of June or sometime in July (probably middish) will be the best.

Also should note that this date is also influenced by /my/ schedule, since I need to be free to host it. Last year I screwed up and scheduled it over part of a vacation and that didn't go well at the end (I'm looking at you Crash). I'm not sure when exactly things are happening for me, but August/Sept is one of the times I expect them to occur.

I think we did an earlyish june 72hr recently. It was like the largest to date, even with everyone in school. That being said, I got my ears gnawed off by everyone complaining about it, so I'll probably do later june, rather than early june if needed.
