Your submission should be in this naming convention: holiday_<forum name>.bsp (If you're forum name is stupidly long, compromise on your name, not the prefix. eg. detail_vfig.bsp for Velvet Fist Iron Glove's entry because we love him).

holiday_vfig or detail_vfig

Copypasta must always be doublechecked, Nrd :p

Wow, I just saw this thread. I'll probably participate, maybe I'll be able to remotely finish one CP instead of 3. But of course my PC happens to be in the shop atm.

And since it's all detail, I'm guessing we won't need to go crazy with optimization? Just enough to look around with a reasonable fps?

Why would you need to take the picture in Garry's Mod? You're compiling the map anyways, so TF2 will open automatically for you.

And no development page.

What is it about this contest that has everyone questioning so many things?

Finally, a contest that will test my skills on artistry rather than use of a text file. This should be a tonne of fun. Rexy's models will look mighty sexy, inspiring me to build NOW.

Time to sit with pen and paper to DRAW mah map. (This means I will submit a half-finished map scribbled on piece of paper.)

Have a festive time, all of you!

EDIT: Map is so small, it makes me laugh. Hahahaha. (No, seriously, my Christmas tree will take up the entire map.)

I'm in. If I make something for this, I can use it for Frostbite! Yay!

Well it's art, but it's community judged. FPS shouldn't be an issue, though.

can the picture be taken in Gmod?

Why?

Do we have to make a development page?

No.

I'm not changing the size limit.

voting ends on my birthday, so I think we all know who SHOULD win.

As I was mapping a blue final point I was wondering how it would render Red, then I wanted to know if it was possible to do a blue control point and his Red skin on the same entrie, in another 2048*2048 square that is not in contact with the blue one. Is it?

I also need a custom texture, A friend of mine would like to do it, but I understood it doesn't fit with the rules, but the last rule states that collaboration is authorized. What is the meaning of collaboration in the rule statement? Hammer work only or texturing is ok?

Okay guys, there is a 2048x2048 limit. That means you can do whatever in a 2048x2048 area with no height limit. You cannot make anything outside of the 2048x2048 area or your entry will be disqualified.

All collaboration is allowed. You and your friend can tag team laying down brushes for all I care.

What about the 2D skybox? The inner faces are at the 2048x2048 borders (and all the brushwork and entities are within that), but the brushes the skybox is made of extend 32 units outward. I don't imagine this should be an issue since that's all removed during compliation, but I just wanted to make sure before I get too much further.

The size of your skybox brushes doesn't matter.
