Right now the current dustbowl theme is tired and overly used with the alpine theme slowly gaining popularity. It's nice to see a different color besides orange.

I totally agree with that, and i think the colours and overall design is ok in cp_egypt. But it feels like it isnt really a tf2 map. I mean you could make a Egypt map for tf2, but it should look a bit different. Dont really know how it should be different but...

Maybe if Valve introduced something like this with their art direction it might be fitting better the look and after that the gamers would be accepting new habitats easier.

Dont get me wrong, level designing with flow and balancing goes first. But the look of tf2 is something i like quite much so i would like to see that everything that is "official" would be in line with the original art direction.

it seems like Meet the Team won't be included. If they manage to squeeze a Meet the Team video in elsewhere or release it in another way
I never got why people expected a video with this one... three class packs done, seven videos done, six packs packs to go, four(+) videos to go. I don't see the whole "class pack = video" idea.

Very happy to hear fastlane might get fixed, I just hope it does enough.

I'm glad Egypt got included in this update, it'll decrease the amount of whiny bitching I always hear about a map "not fitting the tf2 style". God that gets old. I couldn't fucking care less what fits the TF2 style and what doesn't.

ugh, is it just me who thinks egypt looks bland? This time Valve hasnt got any community maps that appeal to me because:

- I don't enjoy arena
- Egypt looks bland so I would get bored
- Junction plays terrible in a newar full 24 man server

Wow, this update has/is pure fail IMO.

Nerfing the demo, upgrading the scout, an arena map that is wide open and a CP map with a second point that is almost impossible to get out of spawn alive.

I think the devs at Valve must have caught something from the L4D crew.

I don't see how this is "upgrading" the Scout at all. Yes, the Scout gets the ability to stun people and all that, but loses mobility, so it's clearly not an upgrade. At least it's not intended to be, and you can count on Valve fixing any bad decisions made with the weapons.

It's funny to see how people get so angry. You don't have to play any of the community maps. I never liked Steel, but I didn't cry about the Heavy update being a total failure.

You might not care about what fits TF2 or not, but there are many others that do, including me

I don't really have anything against Egypt, but I really disliked that another slot got used for community maps.

But the 2 last slots will have a new game mode (I heard that it's going to be different from the other gamemodes) and dual-payload (That also means better HUD for the mappers that do dual-payload), Hopefully one of the slots will also have Meet the *Spy or medic*

Egypt does fit the TF2 style. It's cartoony. That's all it needs to be. Red and Blu are global, they have to fight somewhere else every once and a while.

Seriously, That's the one class that I have the most trouble countering. That's just personal though. But I swear every scout that I come across krits me in two shots even if I've been burning him for the last 30 seconds, then he runs away and heals. Now he's gonna be able to run up faster, or stop me in my tracks so I can't even try to dodge. ARGHHHH.

And you're right, I don't have to play those maps. I just think they were bad choices by Valve for the exact reasons I stated.
Watchtower is too open to be a good arena when there are at least 3 excellent arena's out there that would have been better choices (IMO).

Egypt is awesome. Beautiful map and fits TF2 very well in artistic style.
But the first point of the second round is HORRIBLE. Both spawn doors lead to one small area that can be dominated from the top by one soldier. At the very least one of the doors needs to exit in a spot that can't be reached by that same soldier. Then you have an uphill battle on both sides to even get to the point.
Then you get there and there's an out of reach sentry that plows you down, forget about sticky jumping up, you lose health then the sentry gets you if the heavy, demo or soldier doesn't.
I think Valve must test 3v3 or something. Maybe if you get lucky and kill 3 people you could hold the point until you cap it.

Steel WAS a better choice whether or not you like it. At least you have options to get out of spawn.

Egypt, I really dont care for Attack/Defend maps but still there is better custom maps out there...

Im more disapointed in the choice of Junction.
