Now I got good idea. It is normal payload but is has 3 rounds in same area (like hydro <3). After blu has pushed cart to first, blu has to cap one of 3 control points. Capturing point opens specific route for the payload cart. If blu won that round, they have to choose between 2 control point that are uncapped which one they cap. And of course in third round they have only one control point left to cap.

I think my idea is even excellent because it comes easier and easier for red to defend control point after each round

Other than the almost complete lack of team-colored theming. That's something I need to do sometime, write a tutorial explaining why only arena maps should ever use that theme.

Snakewater got by absolutely fine.

had a lil' idea

basically, there's a train going smack dab in the middle of the map, killing anything in its path
if you did a certain thing (capture a point?) you'd be able to stop the train and create a pseudo barrier across a path or something for about 30 secs until the barrier goes down and the train goes on its merry way
the train doesn't necessarily have to be in the middle, there could be 2 or 3 instead of just one
although the problem with this is that what if the train is moving as the point is captured and it collides in the middle of the barrier? plus the multitude of logic entities required in this...

if someone wants to team up with me to do this, i'd be alright with that (although i haven't got much to show, i still know my way around balancing and things, just not finishing things...)

when you cap a point (ex. blue captures mid), the cart will move along the track to a position that would benefit blu in some way, such as adding cover or blocking off a route (vice-versa)
if anyone would like to help out with this, it would be greatly appreciated!

That awesome, I never have a good idea for a name of map. I usually name my maps like cp_namethismap, cp_themap, cp_dontforgettoaddanameforthismap.
I've used the name Surplus for four different maps now, just because I don't want to think of name.

I got a great idea for a layout. But I have yet to figure out the dynamic mechanic I would implement. A cp on a lift or a cp with paths being added just seems too cheap..
remembering dynamic pl contest, half the maps will most likely be exactly that - a token dynamic element in an otherwise completely regular map

I think Hyperion was saying his 72hr map was KoTH, not that his map for this contest will be.

Oh, I don't saw this. I though that was map for this contest. :oops: Thanks for inform me about that mistake ;)

Oh, for 72hr Maps KOTH and Arena is allowed. They not allowed only in dynamic CP contest. I doesn't saw you're doing a 72hr map. Keep doing that map! :D

If you're standing by the cart to push it, it's payload.
If you're capturing the point to push the cart, ala snowplow, it's cp.
