Also, my arms are just OK during, but the day after it hurts to raise my arm. Ow...

Day Two - Sat, Feb 19th
Okay so I noticed I didn't do the day one "as many as you can" final rep. Thinking about this a little more I also realized my schedule is a little screwed up. My plan is to do a set today, and then "officially" start week 1 on Monday with a Mon-Wed-Fri schedule. My arms weren't quite ready for Level 3 anyhow, so I think this will help. Plus I'll have my wife take some before shots of my flabby white chest, and I can compare them against my awesome man pecs in six weeks.

Rep 1 - 10 Piece of fuckin' cake.
Rep 2 - 12 When is this supposed to get easy? My heart beat is all high again.
Rep 3 - 7 You know those pushups where dudes push themselves and than clap? I wonder if I'll ever be able to do that. Or a one armed pushup. That'd be pimp.
Rep 4 - 7 Okay I can feel these in my entire body. I think my abs are somehow getting worked out.
Rep 5 - 13 Oh fuck you last set. It is a damn mental game not having a limit here. I was on 12 thinking "did I do enough?" and on my 13th my arms sort of stopped. I had to do some mental jujitsu just to get up far enough to qualify as another push up.

My favorite post thus far has been GoldenQuakeGirlMan's awesome Sammy Jack Playin' Guess Who picture. You other punks need to either up your pushups or up your awesome picture posting skills.

Week 3 day 2 completed.

25, 20, 15, 15, 25.

First three sets were pretty easy, then it went downhill. Those last five pushups were pretty intense.

no. Girly is saying you can do 50 and keeping your knees on the ground whilst doing them. Besides, the point of this is to get better at it, so give it six weeks and your achievable number of press ups will be considerably not-girly

about halfway though my sets my left elbow starts clicking when straightened which is making the last two or three sets challenging.

I'm not a fitness instructor, but you might try slowing your pushups down and not "locking" your elbow. A good form push up is equally about the up motion as it is the down motion, and not so much how high you lift yourself. Try pushing up to the point right before your elbow locks, hold for a second, than descend. I think you might get more out of your workout that way too.

Day 3 - Monday Feb 21s
Just getting out of bed today was a bitch. Since this is my official day one I'm going to try out the following routine: Stretch, Do the first four sets of pushups, Eat breakfast, Do the "As many as I can" set. My thinking is that the break will give me a little more energy for that last push, and be more like the very final test.

Set 1 - 10] Check
Set 2 - 12 Check
Set 3 - 7 Check
Set 4 - 7 Yessss... ugh my arms hurt.

Hooray! Breakfast break! Today I'm eating two eggs with 1/2 cup flax seed. 2 cups raw spinach and 1/2 cup black beans. Nom nom nom.

Set 5 - At least 9 Okay so... I forgot to count because I was focusing on good breathing. Dumb, I know, but I'm sure I did at least 9.

I'd also like to add here that I've been brewing my own probiotics. I have three big batches of Kombucha growing and drink two bottles a day. It has a kind of sour/bubbly/wine taste to it. I absolutely love them and really like the weird science experiment that sits on my shelf. If anyone here is interested in brewing their own I can explain. However, you'll need a starter so check your local Crazy House, er Nutrition/Healthfood store to see if they have any of the beverages first. You can start your own culture with the store bought beverage as there are live cultures in every bottle.

Man, Rick-Troll loves this thread. He must be a push-up aficionado. Check out mah pecks brosef!

I was going to start today. But I just spent 2 hours shoveling and snowblowing 10 inches of medium-wet sticky stuff which had 2 inches of hard pack at the bottom. So I'm going to say that counts for my day one anyway.

Do 'em before bed. I wish I had started on a Monday and that is why I'm sort of "re-starting" my routine. However, just starting the program makes it easier to do it next time. Face the floor mate!
