I decided to start a new map when this came out (wasn't too bad, I was only a day into my current one) but I did have have enough obsidian to create close to 100+ portals if i wanted.

I entered hell's... basement... (stupid me to put a portal underground). The bloodstone is very very useful.

Am I the only one who finds the update completely boring? :\ I would have rathered working multiplayer then some hell world which has nothing of use.

Even though I still don't understand how its possible for multiplayer to be broken in the first place, I thought most games had players connect to a private server even when doing SP stuff?

After it happened to me accidentally, now I wonder if I can horribly exploit the Nether/Overworld gate logic to create faster-than-intended travel.

Using one "dependable" Nether gate to transfer materials, alter the terrain of the netherworld to deliberately cause the current gate-desynchronization.

• Build the "dependable" gate.
• Near the first gate, build a tower practically to the top of the skybox. There should not be enough room for more than one gate to exist.
• Build the second "high" gate.
• Enter the "high" gate and immediately return back from the nether.
• Are you now at a spontaneously-generated "third" gate at a same-height nearby mountain peak?
• If not, re-enter the nether, destroy the nether-side "high" gate and fill in the area with just enough blocks to prevent it from reforming.
• Return to the over-world through the "dependable" gate
• Try again.

For some reason, slipgates really love to put you in dungeons. I got a double crate, four buckets, 9 gunpowder, a saddle, some string, and some bread.

Silly enough i've played more hours then i can imagine since this update HOWEVER its all on SMP.. and there is no working hell yet =p

Someday i'll get to check it out!

I can imagine nobody ever finding the other two block types. As of yet, I haven't encountered any Styx blocks myself. Everything's been mossy dirt, Australium, and gravel.

Apparently hell doesn't generate styx anymore, and in fact replaces it with gravel.

I found a little bit of it in mine, my first trip down was also after the halloween "event" (I didn't realize there was going to be one...), with version .02, if that matters.

Still not been to the nether, I decided when the update hit I would delete all my worlds and start a fresh, man I'm glad I did. I freakin' love this map.
