I'm still terribly addicted to this, anyone else?

Yup, I am. I built this huge shaft that connects to my underwater base on the adminium seabed:

Also, do you still have the .dat file of the old server? I'd love to continue the mine I created with my friend :p

The halloween update's pretty good, though hell seems a bit too safe for it's namesake in my opinion. Zombie pigs are just live and let live until you piss them off, and ghast fireballs don't destroy cobblestone, making my life a bit toooo easy. Incidentally, this is what my house in hell looks like (in case you were wondering). Ignore the lava-free column, that's a service elevator.

Happy late B-day buddy!.

I'm boycotting black ops, y'know, and a friend of mine says he bought it just to spite me because I got him addicted to play minecraft. He then went off and played minecraft.

uh, isn't that just a normal world? Last time I checked, there are no clouds in hell, let alone sky. In fact, there's adminium on the top layer as well as the bottom.

So with this new patching..HP and Mobs.

I've died 5 times trying to mine out my Grand Central Terminal and my old cave which i've been working on for forever... wasn't built with HP in mid so that 60 block fall and no ladders.. well hurts =)

Bucket of water. You should always have one when you're down that deep near lava anyway. Let it flow for a bit, then pick the source block back up again and quickly jump into the stream. You can ride the water blob as it moves downwards.

You could also just set up a small water hole at the bottom, and make sure you don't miss it when you hit. That's usually what I do, and then set up a different shaft for a ladder. Make sure the water is at least 2 blocks deep though- any less and it'll have no effect.
