Egyptian Tomb

I've been working on an egypt-themed cp map. A bit of the first stage is in a moonlit desert, and the rest is in a pyramid. I haven't quite decided on a name, yet... perhaps cp_tomb but I know there's already a koth_tomb. I welcome suggestions.

Here are some screenshots so far. I was toying with the style and lighting so what I have in stage one is a bit detailed, and it's what I'm showing here.

And yes, there's a crosshair. I hope it's not too distracting.

I was going for something unique. I thought purple light would be an interesting variation.
I suppose I should also make it a bit brighter, but team colors are usually visible... and I was hoping that the darkness could add to the gameplay. It's far from a handicapping darkness. These screenshots are a tad misleading.

The lighting also makes it look much larger than it actually is. I was actually concerned it might be too cramped.

But yes, the lighting needs some work. I'm far from Alpha status with this.

The thing you have to remember is that people have their monitors at different brightnesses; what seems fine to you could be pitch black for someone else. It's in general not a good idea.

Yeah honestly it does look cool, I just don't know if it's good for TF2. You have to think about color tones affecting visibility of player colors.

I would tweak it around a bunch, maybe wash it out a bit whiter?

I just raised the ambient lighting and fixed some of the torches.
The lighting is much more even, and I'm adding some skylights and more torches.

Thanks for the input-- maybe I'll post this soon as a map when I'm finished with all three stages.

Colored lights are bad in TF2, trust me, trust all of these people, because we all have been there.

From what it looks like, it's not even that colored lighting is necessarily bad, but there's no way in hell those tunnels would EVER be that purple, unless it was made of purple stone.
