How's this?

It's a cool concept, but it physically looks weird to me. I don't know if that brick pillar would be able to handle a rather large control room and a massive metal satellite on top of it. Perhaps downsize it a bit?

Also to note, the transition of detailing right there is kind of abrupt. (I know it isn't done, just pointing it out.)

You mean the stuff Rav pointed out last page, or on the tower itself?

Also the tower is meant to be modeled sort of after these guys for rough scale/shape:

I know that being based on reality doesn't always mean it's fine, but do you guys really think it's significantly large enough that if you hadn't been asked to comment on it you would notice?

I think if you made the stand a cylinder, it'd probably be fine.

Ehh.... making the base a cylinder makes it look worse, imo. It cuts out so much volume that it becomes unbelievable even to me.

I trashed the dish, maybe that's enough, we'll see if anyone says anything next year when I release the next version

Look at all you're images, they all have round houses, with round pillars.

Structure wise, it's smarter to do it that way, so you have an even distribution of weight on the support pillar. It's even more wise to make it cylindrical.

Aesthetically, if you're looking at it, you except some unity, you start from the bottom, you have the "abrupt" 90 degree angles, which then go to the round, lacking-abrupt-angles, so the transition is kind of jarring.

Thats basically the best way I can put it, I guess.

What you can do, is add a larger cylinder at the very bottom, so it looks like there is an actual foundation, that would look a lot better.

I just think the control room is too large, the entire fat middle part is. Should just be as thick as the top and bottom of the round thing imo

Yeah I think the more I look at it, the more I think it's just too fat. Had to see it in game to be certain.

Gonna shrink it down and we'll see.

I actually kind of like it. Certainly stands out as a memorable landmark and IMO doesn't look out of place.

Fr0z3n's probably right about the foundations though.

Better, though i think you can afford to make it taller. That's probably why the thing looked so fat as well, because it was short, it looked more wide.

Agreed, right scale, just needs to be taller, and you'll be good to go.

the middle of the room on there needs a smaller support column in my opinion. no way glass windows can support all that weight.
