What an awesome weapon. It's just like the FaN in the way that it does the same job but from a different angle. :D But I fear it's another nail in the Heavy's coffin though. 80% faster firing speed. Ouch.

That means the rockets move 80% faster, not fire 80% faster.

as just about every class I think I am going to enjoy not dying from a crit rocket hitting a wall a mile away, as heavy...I can't see it being all that fun <_<

It seems all the unlocks so far could have some nasty effects in long hard-to-dodge corridors. And that's after the Huntsman was added.

Widen those tunnels, lads!

Either they should release those crates holding the Direct Hit as map models or someone should make a nice skin for the existing mine crates.

coffee - sniper
boot - any
oil - engie

I fail to see any kind of correlation here. Tomorrow it may as well have burnt edges to show that the pyro is reading the news too.

God damn conspiracy theorists

There was actually an interesting comment on the steam forums about something the soldier says in the comic - "I'm gonna shove my boot so far up your ass it's going to appear on the news." and how it could relate to the boot on the paper. Anyways, with this little knowledge theories will crop up like weeds.

That would not be hard to model, but the crates, as they are, have a huge lot of polygons for how big they are, and compared to other crate models.

From a pyros perspective:

Direct Hit is prolly gonna be fun to use against soldiers.

Here's a nice little paranoid idea.

In the comics, they mention that the unlocks will be given as part of the progression towards Soldier/Demoman eliminating the other. And the war has "begun".

Do you suppose Valve is already secretly tracking stats for achievements, and everyone who has been playing Soldier/Demo will thus have a head-start on the weapons? Hmm!

-2 days left, and 3 maps, 4 weapons, and achieves left to announce
-Engineer would be left as the last one not updated
-Newspapers all have stains on them: A Coffee Ring, A Bootprint, and now Oil

I wouldn't put it past valve to try something like this. Note that the comic says "One Week Ago", and the obvious aging on the paper and comics.

I'm calling it now. The engineer is reading these papers, and the update will be delayed. "Science" will end the war.

How do you know it is 3 maps? Are some of your maps being officialized?....:O

edit: Also, I see a surprise engy update being fairly likely, for two reasons:
-If there is no engy update with the soldier and demo, engy will be screwed. Demo is a sentry counter, and the direct hit seems perfect for sentry destroying
-Valve is smart enough to not have a lone engy update. That would be turtling hell

So far all the unlocks look good but they need a few minor adjustments.

The Direct Hit: Should only hold 2 rocket at a time so people can't just unload 4 rockets up a heavies umm gloves. That provides enough to juggle someone up and then blast them but not so much that you can kill everything in a snap of your fingers.

The Chargin Targe: A 75% resistance to knockback should be added so you can basically run past sentries. That makes up for not having the stickybomb launcher to take them out.

The Eyelander: The health lost better be something like -50 to keep it from being a straight upgrade.

Direct hit, yeah 2 rockets is a good idea, not.

We should take away 2 demoman pipes too because they can kill heavies in one clip, oh and the scout needs only 4 shots because he can take out fully overhealed heavies in one clip, oh and headshots should only do 449 damage so they cant kill overhealed heavies in one shot.

spy knife needs a nerd too. i mean 1shot kills? really.

Giving the demoman bonk is the worst idea ive ever heard, youre not meant to take out guns with your sword and shield but you can still use your pipes.

and -25 is a huge downside. I wish theyd slow the swing and leave the health tbh

It says you run faster than a scout... so you might not be getting hit by the sentry to begin with. If you are, knockback resistance won't help you since the bullets will tear you up anyway.

I'm pretty sure it's the travel speed of the rocket that is faster, not the rate-of-fire.
