I'm pretty sure its hammer going wonky because it only happens sometimes.

It happens to me ANY time I have another VMF open or if I open another map and then open the Library. This is only when the Library is open with another map, it doesn't happen when I have two different maps open. So it has to be something with the Prop Library, I would think.

Edit: God, reading over this makes my brain hurt. Sorry if it makes no sense.

While yes, it has something to do with the library itself, it is also the other map. Only certain VMFs will cause a crash when opened at the same time as the library, and like I said, I couldn't figure out why.

I guess I'll have to do things the old fashioned way, then. :/

Edit: Yeah, I just opened it along side a vmf of koth_sawmill and it opened fine. Only happens with corrode. How obnoxious.

So what's the deal with instances in Team Fortress 2 mapping then? Is it possible to use them?

Actually, I said I'm getting to the point where I may call the library done because every time valve makes a new map, the ratio of map-specific to reusable props gets bigger and bigger. It will be updated with the few new props that can be used, and fancyblendpreviews for the new blends, but I'm not in any hurry to bother with it.

Booj, I'd say, go for every 6 months or so before updating it, if even at all. It's an incredibly useful tool, I give you that, I use it almost daily when I'm detailing. My point is I guess that if I see a new prop from a new map, I know where to find it and I go looking for it. Your library covers the basis of nearly everything a map author would want to use--and that's the purpose of the library, to give the author a wide and general selection of props quickly and easily--not to ease an author in finding 1-10 specific new items added from an update. There's nothing wrong with learning to poke around for those things if you're really after them.

You should be able to find the two library maps in the default folder when you go to File > Open in Hammer. Everything else is either enhancements to Hammer (nothing for you to "do" they are just there) or prefabs. The prefabs are in categories titled "ABS" and you can learn about how to use them here.

Frozen: FYI, The pack will refuse to install unless it can detect the SDK is installed and has been ran.

Why not update the gametype folder with the more recent varients of them so we have more too choose from?
