I am mad. TF2 keeps crashing and freezing, and my PC is fine. it can run any other game fine without crashing, but not TF2

I have no clue how to fix it or where to get help or where to get started at all

Anybody have a problem like this?

My only clue is the stutters, basically screen freezes that last for 1-2 seconds.
Also it's the only game with a problem like this for me.
Anyway, I've found out it has something to do with hard drive, the newer/faster the drive the lower chance of getting these, but on my brand new laptop got the same problem (probably something like slower HDD to save energy)

Has this always happened? Or is it just now surfacing?
Could we have a bit more details about the crashes?

Also, a problem I had about tf2 crashing had to do with the multi-core support, but I can't remember if valve fixed that or not. Nevertheless I keep it off.

my solution was to completely replace the computer, probably not the most cost effective fix if your not upgrading anyways, but it works <_<

I hear this can be sound card related (realtek HD audio). Anyway I have been getting these forever and there seems to be no fix. Whenever some sounds are being played for the first time, there's a random chance that it freezes for a second.:bored:

Huh. I always figured it was a hat/weapon model problem since it always seemed to happen whenever an enemy ambushed me. You know, 'cause it would be all, "Suddenly, polygons! Thousands of them!" If it's a sound issue, though, Valve should look into it.

I also get this issue though it seems to only happen on steel and coldfront, or at least that's where it happens most. But I also have realtek HD audio so maybe that's it.
