Younger TF2 fans might not understand the significance of the upcoming game Deus Ex: Human Revolution. For those of you who weren't around during gaming's golden age, it's the long-awaited sequel to the cult classic dystopian shooter Revolution X, starring and programmed by Aerosmith. You'll once again play as Brad "The Deuce" Whitford. Part human Aerosmith bass player. Part robot. ALL trouble.

"Wow! Can you let me play it now?" you ask. Dream On, Aerosmith fan. The game's not due for a week. (Joe Perry's still coding some shaders.)

Those shades are sexy.

Dat sniper rifle.

ENGIE ITEMS THAT DO STUFF.

oh and don't worry mangy, I did too. I was kinda on the fence for the longest time.

BUT SUNGLASSES.

And FYI, apparently hitting multiple people with the new sniper rifle crashes servers. Happy bodyshotting!

these engy items are shit

Lightning Gun (Pistol Replacement) - like from quake!
Does very little damage
User's Movespeed drops after continued use (1.5-2 seconds)

repairs buildings (at a rate of 65 health/second up close, 20 health/second from afar) and knocks back enemies a bit
100 ammo - uses 10 ammo per second
damage: 1 damage per 1/4 of a second (4 dps)
better than the repair node while adding a bit of skill, fun, and utility to it

Personal Tele (Shotty Replacement)
recharges in 10 seconds. you throw a self-tele. builds in 2 seconds after landing = you are where you threw it, becomes scrap metal for 30 metal. charges + physics like a stickybomb, can be destroyed as it builds (starts with it's full 50hp like the minisentry)
yay mobility

WHAT ABOUT THESE VALVE?!?! IMPLEMENT A LIGHTNING GUN IN THE WORST WAY POSSIBLE!

i think the short circuit might be fine if it had a bigger niche outside of destroying projectiles. it's the razorback against soldier/demo. perhaps it shields against everything behind it, like the motherfucking green lantern. this shield is destroyable and only lasts 3 seconds. yessssss. yesssss.

dunno about the widowmaker, it's an alright idea. rather it do less damage but ya get 1 metal per 1 damage. probably with less clips.

Sorry, no they don't.

Uh, no. They do.

Widowmaker:
On hit: 100% of damage is added to ammo
No reload necessary

Per shot: -60 ammo
Uses metal for ammo

Short Circuit:
On Fire: Generates an electrical field that destroys projectiles and does slight damage to players
No reload necessary

Per Shot: -35 ammo
Uses metal for ammo
No random critical hits

So basically they took the idea that I didn't share with anyone where a weapon uses metal as ammo.

people actually defend the models and say they fit the art style/theme because tf2 is apparently battlefield:heroes now. what is up with that spy tron helmet

and why do they add an advanced multiplayer option to play a bell sound when your rifle is fully charged but fix absolutely nothing

anyway spy revolver is great for trolling. have a friend go engie and put buildings down in front of you, repeatedly sap for like 100+ crits kthx. short circuit was a good movie and with the weapon you can destroy rockets and stickies... even when shot by your own team. 5/5

I still play Medic as my main and have yet to find anything that differs from the original TF2 style. What I mean is that almost all the Medic items fall in line with the traditional TF2 style.

What it ultimately means is these promotional items don't show the Medic any love. :(
Guess it's up to me to model and texture them for Valve. :3

New Engie shotgun is... interesting. It seems overpowered until you realize it actually only has 3 shots in it at any given time unless you manage to do 60 damage over the course of those 3 shots, in which case, you get 4. The only way it's useful is if you're standing next to a Dispenser, in which case the lack of reload isn't really helping you any. The only way this can be really made superior to/equal with the regular shotgun is if it uses less ammo or does more damage per shot.
Sniper Rifle is overpowered, though. I never try to shoot without being zoomed in anyway, your laser dot + kill cam gives you away regardless, and the +15% damage and multiple penetration (heh) is well worth the downsides.

I don't know, as Pyro I managed to kill 6 snipers in one life (the same 3 snipers twice - all using the new gun)...

These items might look a bit too futuristic for TF2, but it's looking far better than most recent items! They look like a lot of fun to use as well. They might just get me playing again. Just a little bit.

Considering it'll probably take at least a half a year of regular play to get the items I want in this pack, it might make me preorder Deus Ex HR. I mean, I was gonna get it anyway, but I was thinking about waiting just a bit...

Was just using the rifle for two hours.

It's brilliant if you get full charged headshot you do around 600 damage.
Main downside is those tracker bullets get you noticed alot.

I am a slut, I immediately pre-purchased the game

I mean, it's probably a good game? So I don't feel too whored out

I was planning on buying it eventually, but this thing made me suck it up and buy it now.

The shades look too damn good on the pyro.

Engi items actually seem like they would be balanced. Must try this out. Also i suppose eventually TF2 was gonna get a replacement weapon for the engi's EMP grenades. Should help spammy situations.
