I'm cool with it, at least it was a hat for a class I don't have a hat for. Now, I have a hat for each of the competitive-centric classes (Scout, Soldier, Demoman, Medic) and a hat for my favorite class (Texas Ten Gallon) so I'm very pleased. Of course, now I have to find weapons that I crafted away to make the hat :O

Last night I tried to combine slot tokens for some reason. And what do ya know? 3 tokens made a refined metal. I haven't been paying attention to any new combinations so it was a nice suprise, I had accidentally crafted 6 slot/class tokens right when crafting started. A bunch of spy ones from watches and there is a way to see hats on cloaked spies (so I don't wear spy hats and I'm not telling how to cheat either).

That bumped my up to exactly 3 metals to craft a random. Got lucky and scored a Soldier's Stash, which is cool, a pot would've been cool too, but at least it wasn't a bald head.
2 minutes before that I got my second random drop hat, the masters belt. Didn't have a sniper hat yet so that's cool. First drop was afro a year ago.

And I had enough metal before for one random hat, got the scout's baseball helmet.

According to this it takes 3 of any token to make a reclaimed metal, not a refined metal.

I just got a hatless sniper (ie the worst hat) so I crafted it with my only other hat (trophy belt ie second worst hat) and got a damn stovepipe (ie third worst hat, one which I had before but crafted because its so bad). I hate luck.

So this morning I woke up to find I had gotten a spy fedora, which is an awfully nice hat, but it's completely wasted on spies. So I crafted it with the aforementioned soldier's stash and got.......

So yesterday I got a camera beard, and today I got another one. Probably means I'm going to go without discovering hats for another 4 months given the randomness of getting the same thing twice in a 24-hour span but whatever.

Got the one I wanted too, the Prussian Pickle helmet thing.

Crafted 2 camera beards - got a demoman's fro. Cool!

Got 2 hatless (crafted them into a ten gallon), a stovepipe (which I crafted with a beard to get a 'fro), a pyro beanie a stash and a picklehaube.
