For those counting, it's the 7th music track number from the animation.

Yeah, the Screen XY thing is pretty swanky. The old Screen mode is tantalizing enough to get you to try it, but frustrating enough that you give up after a couple minutes.

Oh good lord, I just tried it out... THIS IS SO GOOD. Always had to do this the tedious way switching my normal, or the awkward way using screen and flying around since you cant SEE your changes when they come right towards you. I WANT TO MAKE DISPLACEMENTS FOR NO REASON NOW.

I'm guessing someone at Valve started setting up displacements on the new maps they're working on and got pissed off at the old Screen mode. :O

Omg, yesterday I was pulling my hair because I was going to make a huge quarry out of displacements and wanted an easy way to switch between axis.

It's like they're reading my mind!

(Also, me and a friend were just doing the level 3 mini-sentry thing earlier today. Spooky!)

Tell me, how did they screw up the mini sentries this time? This is far from the first time people have been doing level 3 mini sentries.

It only worked on maps like cp_steel where, outside BLU spawn, you could place buildings right in front of a resupply locker. So what you did is have your friend put a dispenser right in front of the resupply locker and then you stood inside of it while switching to the gunslinger. This would cause some stupid bug that I can't explain that let you put down a normal sentry and then getting the gunslinger without it exploding.

I still don't understand how displacement sculpting works and I wish they'd add a mode where you can grab nodes and drag them around like in the vertex editor.

Sculpt mode is just a faster way of getting a displacement in the shape you want it.. it's a lot better at it than the traditional paint geometry tool.

It smooths neighboring vertices a lot better in general.

It is kind of a dinosaur though, fortunately Source 2 appears to be changing that by bringing the engine into the current century.

sculpt might be nicer but it's a lot harder to control. Really all they need to do is make the smooth edge falloff for paint geometry mode be gaussian instead of circular.

I can't think of a single feature in Hammer that this argument couldn't be made for. Everything is functional enough to let you get the job done, but never polished enough to be fun or easy.
