So I am new to hammer, and I understand the use of displacements as uneven floor, but I am having trouble with sideways displacements. I am trying to carve a spiral pit quarry, and I don't know the best way to do it. Should I use the stone props? Displacements? If so how do you make indentations on the side of displacements? I'd be grateful for any advice you can give me.

Most people don't, but you can change the title to just add [Solved] at the end of it. That way people know it's been answered by reading the title.
