Stumbled across this vid on youtube. Thought it was interesting seeing the things that have changed. It seems this would have been released before the map itself.

Also it's probably a good point to ammatuer level designers. If something doesn't work or feel right. Change it. A lot of the time in my past if something didn't work i didn't want to change things because of the amount of time i had spent on a given area or something etc etc. You shouldn't be afraid to revise what you have.

The capture points, the stage 2 building windows, stage 2 red spawn building, gas tank thing at stage 2 red spawn, fences in stage 3, stairs at stage 3 cap b, window under building with health, more stairs at stage 3 cap b, bridge at stage 3 cap b, open area under building in stage 3 near the end. Thats all I could spot.

Stage one and two appear to have few props and no overlays.

But no major changes, just small changes and detail.

There were no areas which were completely scrapped and redone.

I remember when this video came out, it was a few weeks before gr came out.

only because they had already done that part, they'll only scrap large areas whilst their maps are still in dev textures. That video would be their equivelent of a late beta for us, what we really want is to see their alpha (an email anyone? just wish we could post comments on their blog asking for more indepth development process for maps)

Indeed, and even though these appear to be small revisions, the impact is anything from negligable (otherwise there would be no point to it). Plus, just because something doesn't encompass a large area, this doesn't mean the work load was not big in designing and redesigning it.

It would be nice to see some alpha work from Valve... certainly worth an email!

Odd music, i'd expected something less industrial. Felt like watching a EP2/hl2 demo.

I just noticed there is a standard mine cart instead of the payload at the beginning.

Bumm'in for the hell of it.

The mid caps look like brushes not models.

Stage 1 and 2 look more or less the same with the exception of that big drum at 2-2

Stage 3 looks the same but there is a walkway between 3-2 and 3-3 and 3-3 was greatly changed detail wise.

If you told me where to find Robin's e-mail, I'd send him one for that. I kinda needed it anyway, I have something I need to tell him about.
