Inspired by martijntje's 8 cube map, (http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=11363) I made this...
Its a koth map all in custom colors, with a custom skybox and much more! :D
Just something I did for fun to break from the more serious mapmaking...

Hope I got everything pakrated, let me know otherwise.

Give me you feedback and suggestions so I can improve the map!

    TODO:
    - change the light entitys
    - replace the spawndoors
    - custom sounds
    - and alot more i cant think of now

You stole my theme, now I am not original anymore.

but really, I'm flattered you want it to look like my map. Now excuse me for only talking about looks.

you style differs quite a lot from mine.
-the skybox, especially the sun. wtf
-the signs, love them, fits the "paint" theme
    -I love the light drawing
-the "black lines" stick out quite a bit. Mine do as well but less, plus I want to replace the with a texture later on.
-you use a brown/orange sun, making the walls brown instead of white
-you "black lines" are lit by the sun, I use tools/toolsblack (or something like that)
-if you take a close look at my cubes, you should notice that my cubes have a fairly thick outline compared to the other lines.
-Like the idea of your control point however it needs some black

    also
-Do you have any physics enabled cubies (please say yes)
-How do you differentate the red and the blu side?

I will upload a cube prefab later for you.

Sorry, wasnt my intention to stole your idea... Just thought it looked so damn good i wanted to make something similar :D

This is just alpha 1 so alot of things will change, the sun will be more yellow and come from the direction of the sun at the skybox. And dunno if im gonna stick with the skybox, just something i was playing around with...

With physics enabled cubies u mean like they are movable? like if getting shot at, no, but its a great idea and ill see what i can do!

The red side is just a mirrored version of the blue side, the only difference at the moment is the color of the cubes!

Thanks alot for sharing you thoughts!

I like what you did with the lights there. It took me a second before I realized they were drawn on the walls.

Are you at all familliar with "De Stijl?" It's a Modernist art movement of the 1920s-30s originating out of Germany that this map bears a striking resemblance to.

I like it. I like it a lot.

Interesting tutorial. My method is quite like the "hollow method" except I never use the hollow tool, I jsut use 6 brushes. But anyways, I dont think you can call that cell shading nor is "real cell-shading" possible with brush (I dont think models either, but I cant check that)

It's only a coined expression. Many people refer to TF2 as cell shaded in style, but it isn't.

I like the look of it anyways, regardless of who made it. BUT, it needs traps and dynamic features to mix these maps up.

They both remind me of the Cell Shading found in Borderlands. And I loved that look.

    So... purdy.
The sun looks kind of out of place with the blank walls and thick outlines.
