It's that time of year again, folks. That creative tour de force you've been working on in SFM all year? Well, it's time to shine. That's right! Submissions are now open for The Sixth Annual Saxxy Awards!

Final submissions are due Friday, November 11th at 3:00PM PST, but we highly recommend you submit versions earlier in the week to guard against unforseen networking or computer problems. We want to see those submissions, so get them in! Check out the guidelines to learn more.

Reading the title makes me feel old, the fact that the sixth one is upon us. I wonder where we will be when the titles start to read

That'll be the same year that the patchnotes look something like:

  • Fixed an incompatibility issue with the singularity and the less common life simulation headspaces the game runs in
  • Fixed a crash due to nanite navigation paths
  • Fixed a minor physics issue that resulted in some users exiting the game on the other side of the universe
  • Classes no longer scream in agony when a server shuts down as the last user exits (fixed for real this time)
  • Heavy's skin now feels more real during most common simulations
  • Updated the localization files

Surely only four years? The first one was at the release of replays, not a year after, so it was the "second annual" at the start of SFM, and since then it's been two years behind.
Sounds like five to me still? Sixth annual, minus the first = five years?

And we still don't have the source files for anything past Meet the Scout. Or working versions of the MVM maps.
