no item drops

well as copied from the support ticket:

for a week I didn't play tf2 because I had to download all my game because i reinstalled my OS. I've been playing tf2 for roughly 2 hours a day for about a week since i installed it, and it seems that I'm not getting any weapon drops. The last item I received were gunboats and that was before I reinstalled. Is there something wrong or is this normal?

I'm just wondering if anyone around here has experienced this or knows how to fix it.

I've played 11.4 hours TF2 in the past fortnight which has gotten me 3 drops. I used to get tons at a time and now i feel like i am not getting any. Chances are you're just unlucky. But Valve have been having "drop" trouble in various forms for a while now.

Everyone has said they're getting lower drops. I idled for overnight and during school for 2 days and got 4 items in that time :c

yep, joining in the pool of people saying drops are lower
ive actually been keeping track, and ive found 6 items in the past 36 hours of playtime...so...1 item every 6 hours <_<

I got incredibly lucky a few weeks ago, then. 4 items in 4 hours. I can't stop smiling when I recall upon it... it was a glorious day indeed.

I noticed drops became lower after war update. BUT two weeks ago I found several hats: in tuesday I got brigadier helm; in friday I crafted a tough guy's toque (from 3 Refined Metal); and in sunday medic's mirror droped to my inventory. System went mad? But I've got nothing in last 3 days.

Yea, i actually found 3 hats in one session. 2 soldier and 1 medic. Was unbelievable. I also got vote kicked from the server...

I got rather lucky after the Demo/Soldier update. I got three of the Soldier's new items rather quickly (and not long before I earned them again the achievement way) so I haven't felt like the item drops have gone dry.

Drop rates are the same for me, though I don't idle either. Usually one to two items every 3 hours.

Two weeks ago, I was lucky enough to find around 7 items in 5 hours. But now, I do not find anything but blood stained walls in achievement_idle. And as you know, Valve never intended to craft these.

I'm so close to my Soldier specific hat - it hurts very time I start to think about it. Just 2 more reclaimed metal...

Three hats in one session? Unless your session was 12 hours, 51 minutes, and 30 seconds, you encountered a Steam Cloud fail.

Idling right now, judging by the item drop % I should get 9 items.

I doubt I will.

I still haven't gotten my SR... Not that I lament that at all, just a fact.

In the past three or four weeks, i didnt get a single item. Then, few days ago, i got a single flair gun, and since then my first bun boots and one or two other items.

According to steam, i had 35h of playtime in the last two weeks, that would be about 0,06 drops per hour in the last three weeks.

Besides, support only told me that the drop system is random and the usual stuff, i doubt they will help.
