Is the Spy, Scout's father?

So in the latest issue of the main TF2 comics, Scout and Heavy are talking about their fathers. Eventually Scout says something along the lines of his father being gone, and Heavy replies that Scout's father "disappears often". It's not a whole lot to go off of, but comic Heavy is no fool. I think it was in the same issue (might have been the previous one) that Scout had a dream about Spy being his father. It's also well known that (although SFM/game lore is a bit different that the comic lore), one of the spies did have a relationship with the Scout's mom.

I know all of this is talked about a lot, but since it's been foreshadowed in the comics recently, I thought it warranted some discussion. But as I've seen others point out, it could all be a RED herring (geddit?....I'll show myself out). Thoughts?

In Meet the Spy it's heavily implied that the BLU Spy is the RED Scout's dad. It's possible that it's the other way round, too (RED Spy is BLU Scout's dad).

Then again that scout wasn't actually the scout, he was the RED Spy. He was getting upset over the photographs because of the fact that he was in them and he was surprised that he was caught.

True, the only thing left for question is the Scout's age in relation to the Spy's.

Before we ship the two, aren't you concerned about the age difference? Scout's Mom looks like she's in her 40s, And the scout is in his 20s. On top of that though, he's the youngest of EIGHT boys. That means Scout's Mom started making little Force-a-Natures when she was around 20 and kept at it as a virtually single Mom with the Spy, being a merc, dissappearing for months at a time.

What's much more likely is that Blu Spy is simply dating the Scout's mom after his original dad either left or died. That would explain why the Scout would be so touchy on the subject (as a Spy, or not) - there's a man who's seducing his mother and he is not OK with that.

It's simple really - all we have to do is ask the scout, "Who's your daddy and what does he do?"

It's pretty clear that the Spy and the Scout's Mom have something going on, but I still say it's more likely that they are just dating. Even that line uses the word "visit" - which would be pretty peculiar if the Spy was a regular in Scout's life. I frankly think it's more likely that the Pyro is the dad over the Spy.

Also, Scout's Mom doesn't wear a ring. So there.

Hmm - was just reading an article on textures - Is the woman on the spy's ambassador gun the scout's mother too?!

Yup. And according to the wiki, in the festive version she holds a mistletoe above her head and a knife behind her back. In fairness, I don't really see the resemblance, but it's stated on official material: http://www.teamfortress.com/sniper_vs_spy/day06_english.htm
