listen closely, I can only say this once,
they're watching
live as you normally do for the next month or so, but make sure you remember my message
don't do anything weird, don't try to rush the process, don't try to make time go faster or anything
being normal is critical and if you fail the process will fail as well
you need to wait until christmas day before you even start thinking about this
on december 31 (new year's eve) at 11 PM, you need to head to the nearest body of water
this can be a pond, a lake, or maybe even an ocean, but nothing manmade will work, and no, puddles don't count
if you don't live near any, you'll need to leave sooner, getting there is your own job
if you're not there by 11:55, 5 minutes before the new year, you've screwed up and you need to try again next year
your timing needs to be as accurate as possible, your best bet would be to use
this as a resource, sync your watch up with the time shown
once you arrive, kneel at the edge of the water and close your eyes
wait for midnight, it should still be a few minutes away, but you need to show up early to make sure you're not late
close your eyes, clear your mind, loosen your muscles, and listen
listen to the sounds of nature
at exactly midnight, you should hear faint singing in the distance, soft singing of a woman, a slow and relaxing song
open your eyes and stand up
you will see a dim light in the lowest point of the water
the light will turn towards you and be significantly brighter but still faint, almost as if someone dropped a flashlight in the water
the further away the deepest point is, the longer it'll take to get to you. don't worry if you're near an ocean, it will not be at the deepest point in the ocean, it will never be farther away than a mile
the light will continue to grow brighter until it is almost blinding
if you need to, put on sunglasses or shield your eyes with your hand, but whatever you do, DO NOT BLINK
the light will instantly go away
in front of you will be an old man dressed in a suit, he has thinning grey hair and a very wrinkled face, he's kind of short about 5'6 at most
at this point, if you have any electronics, you can't carry them any further
if you have a cell phone, a blood sugar monitor, a laptop, or anything else, place them on the ground in front of you
he will nod once and they will be gone, do not worry, you will be reunited with them when your journey is complete
he will ask you to follow him, he will walk down into the water and once he is completely submerged, he is gone, you have to be in the water (but not necesarily submerged) by then
follow him, what happens after this I cannot tell you, but if you do this properly then I assure you all of your troubles will be gone
but most importantly, with the man: DO NOT SHOW FEAR
he may be forgiving of stuttering, weak handshakes and other things, but if you are a spineless coward then he will deem you unworthy
